Claim on insurance IMO. It'll be about $1000 (or more) supplied and installed. How do I know, just had one done today. A Bestops top fitted by Lee Brothers at Albion for the info of the Brisbane crowd.

There are some installation instructions hereif you want to try it yourself. I preferred to go with experts.

Or you can call a vinyl repair dude and have him weld it back together. I'm still waiting for mine to be fixed (they seem to be quite busy right now) but I've heard they do a good job. The repair is only visible up close. Should set you back under $200.

I'll try digging up the URL if you're interested.

It took me about six hours work. Mine was a NB roof on an NA which required a few extra modifications. You'll need some basic tools, including a pop rivet gun.
I don't think vinyl welding is a good option if the roof is slashed, it will probably be noticeable, and if your car is over a few years old, you might as well go with a new roof.

bought one last year when they first advertised them on ebay at $400. arrived within a week & looks great but i haven't fitted it yet as when mine was cut open by someone wanting to break into the vehicle, i negotiated with the insurance company & they paid for a hardtop instead. not a universal solution, but i still live in the same place where it was parked when it happened, & i didn't want it happening again.
