AVO turbo Kit tuning etc etc

Postby fish » Sun Mar 05, 2006 11:34 pm

Hey all

I have recently put a stage 3 AVO turbo kit on a 1990 NA ....The result has been fantastic but not as great as I expected I have ended up with around 114KW at the RW ....It is running only 8.5 PSI of boost. The clutch has been upgraded to a heavy duty custom race style clutch so it is fine...

I am wanting to get a second opinion on the tune that has been done on it and the boost it is running
in the hope that the numbers will improve with a bit of tuning from someone who knows there stuff....

Does anyone have any suggestions in brisbane as to who to take it to..

Any advise greatly appreciated

They have tuned a fair few B6 and BP turbo engines.

THough I'd think teh power you are curerntly making is fair for teh boost you are running, so only expect to make more power if you're planning more boost.

The stage 3 is the wildest of their kits, I'd have thought you'd get more power surely? :?

that is my thoughts too...I am wondering whether it has been tuned a little conservatively ....This is the main reason I want a second opinion on it all ...hopefully from someone who knows MX's

Who did the tuning? Ring AVO direct and ask them to steer you in the direction of one of their preferred installers perhaps. Also ask them what sort of ballpark figure powerwise you should be getting.

Andrew is getting 157kw at the rw with a stage 2. You're quoting stage 1 figures but I guess you are running low boost.

Speak to the guys at AVO. They prep and sell these things.
