I had a ball too. Thanks for letting us know about the event ORX626 and glad you sorted the beast.

I think I was most definitely the slowest MX-5  . I was thinking of changing my signature pic to this:
Image.......but it's the wrong colour  .

I was the slowest turbo! 1:13.2 was my best. And there's Tony getting 1:10s in his non-turbo NB!

I have an animation for you, JBT:

Thanks Danny for getting us on this! I had a ball.

I will post photos later.
I will also download the GPS data so you can scrutinise my laps :p

Cheers,

The only times I saw posted were for the Clubman track.

Mike was fastest, putting in a 1:08.xx and mostly hovering in the 1:10s
Tony was doing brilliantly, and got down to something like 1:10.1x
I was running 1:10's, which I am happy with, but brake fluid was stuffed so my lap times drop off considerably after the first two.

There will be details on http://www.timeattack.com.au/ at some point I assume....

Oi!! on the last session I did four laps in a row, *all* 1:08.something - very consistent! :)

...as he always does, that's one of the fastest non-blown MX5s on a track with him at the helm. He was the same at Morgan Park. Coulda been faster today too, but his new rear suspension setup was proving a bit unsteady under brakes.

I'll post elsewhere on the appropriate threads, but I can report that the Fulda Extremos held up extremely well, as did my new Lucas/TWR brake pads - excellent. Even if they stunk a bit of burning resin till they bedded in properly ;) Oh yeah, and they lived up to their "lotsa dust" reputation.

Really great day out. Well done the organisers.

Mike

Mine too. They're all spongy, and the fluid is black! Mind you, it's been black for months, but the track day's made the brakes reallllly spongy. I really really need to do that fluid change now.

Also, I think I've finally found my oil leak - the second dipstick that's on the oil pump - it has one because the engine block is from a Familia. I'll probably pull the dipstick seal the hole up with some Selly's Knead-it (or other similar metal putty).

I concur. The man has some serious ability. :)

Mike, I've been going over the pics and you've been getting some serious lean happening in the corners. :)

We won't talk about my 1:16s then. A big improvement on the first 1:19 or whatever it was.

yeah, I know.... have you seen that pic of me under heavy brakes that Rhys took at Morgan Park? You could stash your suitcase under the rear arches :(

I wonder what will make it lower, and flatter???? Something is coming to mind.... I'm getting a "T"..... now I'm seing an "E", wait, I'm sure the next letter is "I"......
