I found the 615's pretty good pon the track for short sprints of 5-6laps. After that they did need some time-off. As for the road, they've been brilliant, huge grip, predictable, very quiet and seem to wear quite well. I think for a single tyre to be good on the road, wear well and no go off on the track is a pretty big ask.

I find Tempe are the best with price. I've learnt to call them up and make up a price some $10 - $20 less than my best price and they usually match it straight up.

T1R's don't hold up to as much abuse as the RT215's not to mention 615's, R888's are r-spec tyres, you can't compare them to normal road tyres.

thanks for that mag mate it cleared a lot up for me , so 615's look great for the short stuff but will melt on the track like the guys up above have said they get too hot and melt , guess i just never pushed em hard enough to do that .

Thats probably why the 215 the ultimate street Tyre(errr was). Its also very good in the wet. Left most street tyres for dead. Kept up with the DO1 at Wakefield in the wet.

Nothing wrong with Falken's at all! I've owned a few sets. However, at $200+ (same price as R-compounds) for a driver who never overheated their 215's I would go with T1R's for a lot less money and very similar performance.

For what it's worth I would buy Khumo MX's over any of the above mentioned tyres. MX's are my favorite street/track combo tyre. They overheat like all street tyres on the track, but they still have a lot of grip once overheated. When the others pull off with melting tyres you just keep on going!

well i have had a few sets of 215's , and have gone to dumloops then to yoko onos and then nankang (which suprised me with how good they are for price) but i thought i would go back to the old friend with a face lift and see what all the hype is about if there even 3/4 what the 215 was it will be worth the money and from what i've heard they last longer as well in the wear stakes so maybe money for miles thing instead.
