OBX Pedals - Help with Installation

Postby ZenArcher » Tue Feb 14, 2006 8:46 pm

A while back I bought some OBX pedals from Mania. I finally got around to fitting them on the weekend. I am wondering though if anyone else has fitted them, what did you do?

With the brake and clutch pedal, the only way I could get them to stay in place was to leave the OEM rubber pieces on and put the OBX pedals on top of these. If I took the OEM rubber pieces off, no matter how tight I did the screws up on the clamps, the pedals would not stay in place. Is there a trick to this? Doesn't seem right that the rubber oem pieces have to stay on, I thought that they would have to be removed or am I incorrect in this train of thought?

The throttle pedal fitted OK with metal on metal but I just couldn't get the brake or clutch pedals to do the same.

Any help here from anyone who has these OBX pedals installed would be welcome.

I fitted my pedals from mania the other day. I thought about taking the pedal rubbers off however as this would change the relative height of the brake and throttle pedals I left them on. If you take the rubbers off you will have trouble sliding cleanly from the brake to the accelerator.

I have had the pedals on for about 3 weeks now with no problems. THey look good and make heel-toeing even easier.

Yeah, I took the rubber covers off as well at first but then the new pedals wouldn't fit without them. I've had them for a good while now, and I've found with the clutch pedal, I've had to retighten the screws every month or so or they just come loose! Not very safe but I've been able to remember to retighten them every now and then and it's been fine.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I have done the right thing then. I'll keep an eye on the screws and see if they need retightening too.

Thanks
