orx626: I would have to take a day off work to get there, so i prolly wont come just to watch (just started full time).
I'll try get a full set of tyres for the next one and i'll be sure to make it (fingers crossed).

Fra66L: i am by no means a morning person, just cant do it unless i have to for work or something, thats why i never went to the others.
Might get my arse into gear oneday though :D

Cheers
Dave

The possibility of an extra hour that I mentioned previously will be run this way (refer below e-mail from Paul).

Cheers,
Danny

Hi Guys,

I want to try a new idea I have for the die hard track day guys who want to tune and test their cars.

I will add an Extra Hour of testing.

No timing gear.
There will be the Pit Lane Marshall.
There will be the Track Controller.
One group only of 15 cars.
All normal on track rules apply.
Enter and exit the track when you want for the hour under the pit controller instruction.
You must have been to at least 1 other track day to qualify.
The track used for the hour will be majority voted (National, Clubman or Sprint)
Cost Extra $25

If you want one of these 15 spots let me know ASAP.

Paul

Just saw this in an email from Paul.

Also there is still 1 volunteer driver spot vacant. In this role you help for half the time and drive the other half for free.

After a no, then a yes, then a no and then a yes again, I'm definitely in. Woo!

I'm thinking it might be wise of me to drop the boost back to stock. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? I'm using bendix advance pads all around, with standard rotors.

Looking forward to it :)
Will there be 11 cars on the track at the same time? That could be a bit tight on the sprint track, especially if there is a VN in our group :-/

Rhys, yeah there will be....because we have so many first timers as well, we don't know what is the better mix of vehicles per group...as we have found that lap times are more sensitive to driver ability than vehicle performance. I'd like to think a little bit of group shuffling might happen to ensure that overtaking is minimised. By the way, it is only a five lap sprint per session, with one warm up and warm down lap. It would be nice to lap a VN within 5 laps.

Cheers,
Danny

No worries. Maybe we can make this interesting and place bets as to who overtakes the VN first. Put me down for $20 on Mike and his turbo.

See you tomorrow :)

I spoke with Paul an hour or so ago and he indicated that the clubman (first session) and national (second session) track layouts would be used. So it might still be possible to get around the crummydore in the first session without a turbo or rotary. :|

Sounds good to me, John.

I changed my steering boots, checked the oil and did the coolant flush, so I think I'll be good to go. I hope I didn't stuff the alignment when removing the tie rod ends, but we'll have to see what happens with that.

I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
