USA Tour for MX5 Enthusiasts

29 September - 8 October, 2006

Dear MX5 Enthusiast,

I am coordinating an Australian MX5 Enthusiasts tour of the Pacific Northwest (SEATTLE) region of the USA.

This will be an opportunity for a limited number of participants to have a MX5/Miata focused tour of the NW region of the USA during the spectacular Autumn colours season. A complete itinery with guided sightseeing opportunities will be included. The event also includes attendance at Backroads to Bavaria IX, a multi-club regional event in the Bavarian themed village of Leavenworth, Washington State. Past years have seen over 100 cars in attendance.

Participants will be hosted by Seattle area Miata/MX5 club members, as well as accommodations at historic/classic hotels during various excursions. Already, a good number of participants from three different Australian MX5 clubs have made the committment to attend. Participants will be responsible for their own air transportation and any pre or post travel plans.

I hope to see you on on the backroads.

John Hewitt,
Coordinator

John Hewitt was an active member of both the South Australian and Victorian MX5 clubs during his 1999 and 2005 exchange teaching years. He has befriended many Aussie MX5 enthusiasts and is coordinating this fantastic opportunity. As an active club leader, he's best known as the host of the regional Backroads to Bavaria event.

You are welcome to come for the Backroads to Bavaria IX weekend event. Planes fly to Seattle from there everyday. Talk it up with others to get an idea of the options. :D

Approx: $540 USD for a single or $306 USD ppdo. This includes the 3 Hotels, 3 sight-seeing venues, 1 N.P. entrance fee, and 1 R.T. ferry ride.

Below is a portion of an email I sent to another inquirer. I hope it helps explain the costs and how the event is being coordinated.

Cheers,
John Hewitt

Dear ________,

.....The costs will be the responsiblity of each participant....

I.....will put all the pieces together, ie. blocking of hotel rooms, restaurant reservations, venue group reservations, etc. I'll make sure you have a way to get to and from the airport, transportation while on the tour, and accommodations at either hosted homes or hotels. Read through the Complete Itinerary again and get a look at how it's layed out.......

This is not a travel company, and thus the air and other expenses are the user's responsibility..... I.... will act as the local guide and coordinator. The participants will need to book thier own rooms once they've decided upon attending.....

One of the tempting elements which enticed a few already to attend is the use of one of my MX5's......These will be shared equally, and any additional transportation needs will be covered with people-mover hired cars/vans; of which the costs will be shared.

The event is a chance for Australian and American MX5/Miata owners to mingle and share a week-long fun experience,

bla bla bla.......

Make your plans now!

Already, 15 Australians from 4 different MX5 Clubs have committed.
There is still room for you.
A short list of "maybe's" are still pondering the idea.

Now is the time to check your diary and plan your holiday/vacation. Check out the event again with the above links and see what's happening. Hope you will be able to make the trip. Most of the committed participants will be attending Natmeet. Chat 'em up and see what can happen.

See you on the backroads,
John Hewitt
