Hey, all
My back right brake is squeaking pretty bad when I brake, or use the handbrake.... Particularly a whole lot worse when its raining or when brakes are cold ?? After about 15-20 minutes of driving it is silent..
Squeaking frequency is directly proportional to the revolutions of the wheel....
I'll explain this is noise-speak as if I'm slowing down in the morning to take a corner
squeak squeak squeak sqqueaak squueakkk SQUUEEAAAAAKK SQQQQQQQUEEEAAAK (as in the squeaks get louder and longer (more drawn out if you know what i mean) as my car comes to a complete stop
Ideas? Thinking a part of the rotor is glazed.. or something.. dont know much about brakes

some other alternatives then
- foreign object embedded in your pad - that will burn its way out eventually.
- pads have small locator sheaves that can occassionaly work themselves loose and start pushing against the disk... I can't remember if they actually have these in the rear - but in the front at least - i had one work its way out on the drivers front, which made painful noises. This would typically only happen if you've installed new pads fairly recently though. They tend to seat themselves in place fairly strongly after a bit of heat and dust has a chance to stick them down.
just take the rear wheel off and have a look around at any rate... they're fairly simple things to diagnose.
