To a Point. The wifes Honda is a shocker. 2 days of driving they are Gry. 1 week....they are black. Sorry, that, I will not tolerate. The Current Pads i have. Hardly dust at all. yes....there is a little dust.....but nothing like the Honda. & they stop really well too

haha.. i agree.. i use the Bendex Advance.. OEM replacement pads.. work great on the road.. after 2 months the wheels are just going grey..
on the track.. they are great for 3 lap sprints.. and dont start to fade till after 5 runs....

for the price.. i think they are great value for money

HAWK HAWK HAWK!! My 2c

Race Brakes RB74s = no feel, like a block of wood is between your calipers
Bendix Ultimates = good on street but dusty
EBC = crap, crap and even more crap
Metal Kings = MX5 is not heavy enough to heat them up on the street
Cobalts = buy direct from USA and quite good (Mattys fav)
Endless/Pagid/Ferodo = too much $ for you STM! (I love DS2500 Ferodos for dual duty)
Hawk = HPS are the go - available for NB8Bs too now - call Mania

My 2c worth

I have a set of Bendex Advance if you want to buy them off me Stefan. Paid $65 (Front Set) and they never got fitted so I suppose $50 or something and I can give them to you on Sunday.

Don't mind either way mate.

My NB8B Metal Kings work great when they're cold, much better than the OEM pads, they seemed to loose their bite a little bit in the wet though. I've only dríven on the road so cant comment on their track performance.

What Matty said about the RB74's, no feel what so ever and very little initial bite.

I'm surprised you guys dislike RB74's so much. On a wrx they're easily one of the best pad for feel, surely the compound would be the same?

CT, On the wrx I found the DS2500 average at best for the price they are, not overly good from cold, chew thru rotors freeway driving, and can still get a tad of fade at EC. DS3000s are a fantastic track pad, so I run RB74 or Ultimates for the road and have a second set of pads/rotors with DS3000s for the track.

I appreciate this thread cause what I thought was good seems crap on an mx5.

but some good info here for when i do need to change pads later this year.

had some other feedback about thew RB74's.....pretty mutch what everyone is saying here. pretty crappy.

hawks & OEM......mmmmm food for thought.
