Which Brake pads

Postby StanTheMan » Thu Jan 19, 2006 8:44 am

Got this earpiercing metal on metal Noise on the way home last night...... its not the Brakepad backing plate on the Rotor noise......so i assume its the Brakepad warning singns.

Which Brake pad is great. Loved t6he OEM ones that came with the NB8A Upgrade kit. But I believe these are not available in OZ.

Couldn't recommend the Bendix Ultimates on the "No Dust" issue.

With the other criteria:

High Performance = Yep!

Spirited Driving = Yep!

Occasional Track Day = I'll let you know in 6 weeks.

RB74s are a better track pad than Ultimates.

Ultimates are quite crap on the track.

Note the above comments come from driving a heavier car on a track, not an mx5, so perhaps they're out of place somewhat!

Agreed, but unfortunatley a lot of the RB74 backing plates don't have the holes in them for the anti rattle clips so they rattle around and eventually drive you mad, unless you're lucky enough to get a set that does.

Bendix Metal King are definitely no dust. Good track performance too, but on the street they're terrible because they never get up to temp.

metal king are average on the track imho.

sorry to say that brake dust is a part of performance, and like a loud exhaust it should be celebrated and enjoyed.

I've got Endless SS-M at the moment and they feel great. Haven't had them on the track yet but they are definitely no-dust on the street..
