One of my greatest concerns regarding the repair of my baby is whether the nosecone decal will be replaced correctly. I'm currently shopping for repairers, one of which didn't even include it in the quote and another quoted replacement of the badge found on later NA6's.
I was thinking of either supplying a photo so they can get the location right or simply asking them to lewave it off and doing it myself.
I realise this decal is hardly the 5's most elegant feature, but I consider it essential to its authenticity.
Apologies if I sound like a boring fuddy-duddy.
Any tips?
NA6 nosecone decal replacement?

You really love that car don't you
If you want something done *right* (i.e. perfect) do it yourself!

Unless someone here can post a good photo, the only thing I can think of is to do a Cardomain search of NA6s and see if you get lucky with a clear frontal piccy.

Yes, yes I do.
And I'd love to do it myself, but I'm just short of a spray booth and panel repair equipment. I'd prefer to do the sticker too, but I thought I might rub the repairer's nose the wrong way if I told him to leave the decal of all things for me to do.
JBT: I've got no trouble getting an appropriate shot myself, I was just wondering what you guys may have done in the past.
Cheers.

look in the archives

look to the bottom of the page, kula has a few pics of his car with the decal as a reference.

Mightyrollarman,
I've had this same problem too after having a new bumper put on. I took the car to Hume Smash Repairs in Liverpool, as the owner is in the mx5 club and is also an NA6 owner. His car is immaculate and he is the most anal person I have ever met when it comes to MX5s. He told me off for having a slightly bent arial! Suffice to say that I trusted him when it came to putting the decal back on properly.
Kula's decal is in the wrong spot so don't use that as reference.
PM me your email address and I'll send you a photo of the front of my car.
Cheers,
Nath

Thanks guys, but my current sticker is still intact and in place (damage starts at the top of the nosecone), so I've got no trouble getting a proper photo.
I just thought there may be a rule of thumb (like a diagram from the big forum) regarding its location. I think I'll just supply them with a photo as a reference point.
Cheers.
