anyone ran ECSTA V70A or the V700 (not sure if the latter is AUS available)

anyone got some feed back or rough prices?

from memory the v700 in 205/50R15 is 200 each

my friend drove the Lotus Trophy elise and they use the v700 and he said its pretty good and it holds tyre temp quite well. I am thinking getting as my next set of tyres

yeah im think of getting them next too in 225/45 R15. looking around its the only tyre in that size i could find anyway... thats within 2% of the standard rolling dia.. so should be sweet

hehe now i have a sudden erge to smoke off my GIII's to warrent getting new tyres :roll:

but im not that silly.... or that rich. so on the wish list they go!

i have the Ecsta V70A/V700 in 205/50/R15, They are fitted to 15"x7" rims.

First semi i've bought, recommened by my tyre guy, i think they were $150 each, or lower(?)forgot...

left them on after a track day, and they've been on ever since. Hence i love them for road use, i cant imagine putting regular tyres back on. Then again my car is a weekend warrior so i hardly drive it.

They arent as noisy as i expected semis to be, they arent as loud as taxi cab retreads, but you can make out a little hum behind all the rattles the mx5 has.

grip wise, the side walls are super stiff and super square shaped. There is much much less body roll, and the wide track compared to my previous regular tyres 185/55/14 hv the car feeling "go kart like". There is a bit of tramlining, even after a wheel alignment, so i cant believe ur going with 225 but each to their own.

Tyres are tyres, and even sticky tyres wont save bad driving. But then again, where possible good tyres are a must.

i just like the phat look and at the moment 225/50 is a little too much side wall, though i suspect the GIII to have a rather soft side on the compared to something like the v700's

225 on a 5 just looks nuts.. and the have only scrubbed once or twice and i had to try pretty hard

think ill be looking at 300 a tyre for 225/45's ... if i can get em. anyone in the wollongong area know a good dealer.. of tyres :shock:

i drive a black 94 MX5 (NA) Clubman with hard top with tein super street coilovers.

sorry, im in sydney, dont know any tyre dealers in wollongong.

either way the tyres will look FATTTTTTTTT

wear? sorry cant really comment.
I've only had the tyres for about 1month, dríven about 1000km, i think they 'could' last up to 10,000kms with "soft" road driving. Another friend said that they should last 12 months if they were saved for track day once a month. but then again, it depends on how you drive.. hes a racing fanatic.

Just to dig this thread up from the dead. Anyone used these since? Did you switch from another tyre, or have you used another tyre since? How does it compare? What is the durability like; how many trackdays did you get?

Though Irwin8er has run 225/45/15's since on V70A's, plus a whole lot of tyres inbetween.
