Woke up this morning and had no one to play with

Postby hillsend » Sat Dec 31, 2005 7:07 am

I was wondering how many people on this forum live on the Gold Coast.
I live in the hills just behind the Robina and love to go for a burn up the hills on weekends.

I joined the club but they have had only one run on the coast in 3 months and it was slower than the speed limit, all those great corners and no fun.

It would be great if a group of us like minded drivers could get together and organise some regular runs, it would be some much more fun in a group.

I am not saying we should go out hooning just nice enjoyable spin.

I agree with you, I have bought the domain ozmazda.com and will be setting up a site over the weekend, with a forum.... with the sole intention of organising exactly what you're after. Stay Tuned.

Why not bring your ideas and potential participation to the club instead of dismissing it?

???

The Gold Coast chapter of the Club has reegular runs and is well known for having a - let's say, sporty - bent. I can't believe there has only been one tourist run in three months. Something's amiss.

Besides, as JBT said, why not do it within the Club? The Cardigan Brigade is no longer in power and we've done several brisk drives up here in Brisbane since. There's serious efforts going on to reinvigorate the younger and more "enthusiastic" driving membership.

You'll find many like minded enthuisiasts amongst the Gold Coast membership. There's the highest proportion of SP's of any Chapter down there, and many of them further modified! THery're no tourists, believe me!

Oh yes, one of the members at the last GC Chapter run had his road legal MX-5 race car (now his only MX-5) there and he didn't seem to be bored or concerned about the rate of progress enroute. :)
