Perspex as the rear window in NA???

Hi guys,
We've pulled a display down at work and I have this 2.5x3.5m sheet of perspex.

Reckon I could cut it up and have it stiched and glued in as a rear window in my NA? I know the NB's have fixed glass but have a different way of folding down.

I would obviously unzip to fold down, but would it work?

what a great idea - has anyone tried?

I wonder how it would fit - the rear window on the NA needs to bend a bit when you fold it down - plus y'd have to be careful putting the roof down in case it broke the perspex

you'd be able to use all different colours - I've used some perspex as a wind blocker but reflection was really harsh fyi

i think Zoom (japanese shop) has a similar product and i guess it should work fine.

Probably no worse than the plastic in there.

Believe it or not, the NB top folds down exactly the same way as the NA.
The only difference between the two frames is a small spring attached to the third frame member, the one just up behind your head...

Yeh cant see why it wouldnt work....would be the same concept as the NA Tops which come with glass in them. Yeh you would just unzip before lowering.

You don't even have to unzip before lowering if its done properly...

perspex would work well but what would be better is polycarbonate plastic (i think thats it anyway)

Its only bout 2mm thick but it alot stronger from what ive been told.
What im trying to say is if something come flying at your back window (dunno what and how but yeh) polycarb wont break whereas perspex will.

Definatly a good idea though!

My understanding is that PolyCarbonate is also more scratch resistant.

Guys, this project is off as I got my SE today with glass rear window, and brisbanites want some perspex to continue my work, its yours.

perspex isnt going to be legal as it doesnt shatter the same as safety glass...
