Exocet Build 001
Hi Guys,
Frames are on their way and arrive this month. Thought I'd better get a move on with the start of the build.
Donor is an NB8B from Lou. It apparently went into a wall at Eastern Creek. Must of been moving as it was a perfect straight edge on the side he crashed.
Anyway, this is her now as of this morning.
Thread will be updated as things progress.

Re: Exocet Build 001
I have a few decisions to make in the next few weeks.
Rim choice.
I have Dunlop Direzza's coming in the container with the frames.
Suspension
Seats
Belts
Any ideas/suggestions appreciated

Just initial discussions. It depends on which engineer you talk to. One says we should be good, another says it needs at minimum an aero screen. We'll see in a month or so I guess

I'd expect once 001 is built and rollng. That alot more orders will come your way. I know I fit into that category.

Re: Exocet Build 001
I still have a frame left in the original shipment. Once the build starts I imagine it won't last very long

Re: Exocet Build 001
I guess with this build adding lightness is pretty important
There's some VERY sexy seats here:

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Exocet Build 001
Actually for my car I'm not worried about performance etc. All I'm worried about is getting the bloody thing on the road.

From the top:
Rims just need to be what you like and have the right offset for the cycle wings to fit. Though I would suggest that your tyre choice is going to determine what size
Lowered suspension but not something rated for "track only" King and Koni/bilstein combo maybe?
Seats - stock. You will want to use ADR approved seats and it doesnt get cheaper than donor vehicle
Belts - stock if they are ok
cheers

Suspension - mca.
The car is unlike anything on the road, so standard suspension might not work. Unless someone else has already figured out spring rates.

Re: Exocet Build 001
Why not try Nitrons. Quite popular with the Lotus Elise community apparently. I'd say this would end up reasonably similar in weight?

Sexy, yes. Pity form has taken precedence over function at least for track use.
Those race seats have no upper body lateral support. This is the NBT* for racecar safety, and will be something we will be looking for in the next year or so.
* Next Big Thing
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)
