My Exocet....
I'd had been thinkng about a kit car for ages but most of the cars available we're usually made up of all sorts of weird parts but the Exocet came along and it' s what I have been after, deposit is down, looking like mine will be the 3rd chassis built, I'm getting the one with the full roll cage and steel floor, will probably be early next year before it's going to arrive so will update when it gets closer.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Re: My Exocet....
Im full of envy and look forward to seeing this as you build it Lou.
Early last year I told Chris that I wanted to build a kit car. "Get me a gun so I can shoot you now" rings a bell as to his response. The Exocet was the car I had in mind back then for the very reason you are building one. So much of the MX5 is used.
Have you had to choose a colour yet?

My Invoice says Build No. EXO003S

You going for Rego or Race only Lou ?

Re: My Exocet....
And I can say that Lou's invoice says EXO001R...
It'll only take me 2 days to knock the frame out. Add powdercoating to that and you guys will be picking them up on the same day...
And by the way, thanks Lou. Seems you've done most of the hard work with the loom on the nb8b. Stripped it out today. Tomorrow arvo should see me ready to lift the body.

Re: My Exocet....
It's going to be an exciting adventure for all of us.
Once I'd seen the details of the kit and had a discussion with Matt, the Exocet was the logical way to go. I'm sure we will all be working together to get the cars built and set up to be road registered.
We'll all have build threads to keep everyone interested up to date on the progress.
I'm thinking of black and silver for mine. Don't know where I came up with that colour combination.....

Looking forward to watching jealously.
Can't help but want to build a V8 one.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: My Exocet....
Would a nb8a be a viable donor car?

For a Race car, definitely. For a registrable Sport, not yet/maybe never.
Which model were you thinking of?

Will be watching this with interest.
I don't have the skills to do something like this but it would a great way to learn.

Re: My Exocet....
Muzdaman, go to my website www.exocet.com.au, click on the forum and you'll be directed to the UK build forum. Have a read. You'll soon realise that you don't have to be a mechanic, or even mechanically minded. Some of the guys that have built them, no idea about cars, but they've still achieved great looking cars.
It's THE easiest kit car on the market today.

Re: My Exocet....
I'm not sure what the plan is for my car at the moment, I'm probably going to wait and see if the rego thing is going to happen.
We are going to be in USA in March so might get to visit Exomotive.
