Designed for 4,5 or 6 point harnesses
Roll bar exceeds SCCA/NASA/FIA/MSA specs for cars up to 2500 pounds
Unbroken driver diagonal and harness bar
Extra front and rear downtubes for improved rigidity

so sounds like we just need the first one built before anything happens.

guessing if you want the sport, but later on in the cars life, you wanted the full race cage. you could just buy the pre fabed tube lengths and weld/add them on?

Schedule I from Cams manual - won't be required for your open wheeler. However a number of them racing out there do use nets, for obvious reasons. All fixed roof cars are required to have nets, whether using windows or not, per the Cams specs.

Question is if you were to race one, what class you would race it in. Presumably some clubman type category.

Not really. by the time you cut the front tubes out' replaced them with the one piece front tubes, grind all the powdercoating off, add in the additional bracing ect you'd be better off just buying the race chassis and swapping all the components over

if i had a spare 12k and a workshop i would be ordering one for sure.

i have done a rough sketch of a side profile of what an aero bodied version could look like.

so much potential.

Its a concept done by an american college student. Exomotive said they're working on new aero design. I personally hope this is it.

According to the US website, both the sport and Race versions have a "Roll bar (that) exceeds SCCA/NASA/FIA/MSA specs for cars up to 2500 pounds". In that case, other than peace of mind, is there any reason to go for the Race version if I'll be using the vehicle to compete?

Good question and the answer is this... No, there isnt. It all depends on CAMS. The only real difference between the Sport and Race frame is the obvious roll cage and the floor. Race is a steel floor whereas the Sport is aluminium. If you decide that you would like to use your Sport for racing, we can exchange the aluminium floor for the steel and weld it in for an extra $380.00.

the answer to that would be to check the race category you race in. some categories race a full cage setup.

Looking like I will be getting the race version in the first shipment, have been thinking about some sort of kit car for a long time and have never really liked the donor part, this came along and I reckon it's just about perfect, Matt also said the first 5 orders get a car trailer included...
