SP airbox Replacement

Hi Members
I am not overly impressed with the airbox is my SP. although design is ok the fittment is too tight and my filter outer rubber got damaged putting it in. Also it feels so brittle idont ever want to damage it by forcing it. I often clean the MAF and put a new filter in and it's got quiet dirty already only after about 1000ks.
So my question is can I put a pod on it after the MAF or is there another box that can fit. I don't really want to do anything to drastic or expensive just a bolt on type of thing that obviously doesn't suck hotair.
Thanks in advance
I also apologise for all my questions I am trying to learn about these cars plusstarting to learn how to do my own servicing and mechanical work.

The carbon airbox is a defining feature of the SP. Consider buying a different panel filter if you feel it's not doing the job.

You'd want to put a pod filter before the maf or else the maf will be seeing unfiltered air. You could get a custom airbox fabbed by someone like NitroDann, however a good pod filter and airbox isn't going to be super cheap. There's no 'bolt on' solutions for the SP as it's an Aus only limited edition.

Thanks so much, I would be keeping airbox in my cupboard and looking after it that way.
Thanks for your info and advice.

Good - if you could find another original it'd probably cost you $1k or so.
