Hi all, i could use some assistance with this one.

I'm embarrassing stupid when it comes to electronics and don't want to stuff up or do any damage.

Jargon goes over my head. I have no idea what a FET or FIDL is so I didn't get far with Google.

What I'd like to do is wire in a mac valve to my PNP MS2, using the now unused red wire in the MAF and the blue power connector near the passenger side headlight.

In order to use the factory wires and avoid running additional wires through my firewall, can I just jump the stock (MAF red wire) wire from outside the ECU case to the boost output in the DB15 and then connect the other wire to the Blue power connector?

Would I need to add any diodes or resistors?

Hoping to get the mac connected so my tuner can just do his thing without having to install anything.

It needs to be wired in to the options port of your MS2, pin 7 is boost control and pin 5 is ground although you can probably get the ground from elsewhere.

How you get there is up to you, check what ever existing wires you plan to use with a multimeter to make sure theres nothing between the engine bay end and the in car end.

Telling us exactly which ms2 model you have would help. You need to provide the solenoid with a 12V source that's power with ignition and then connect the other wire to the ECU boost output which provides a switched ground.

My mistake, boost control and 12v not ground. I wired both mine to the options port, it's not that hard to run a couple of wires through the firewall.

It's a DIY PNP built by gslender.

I thought if I used the blue connecter in the engine bay to get 12v ignition and the other wire to the boost output on the DB15 connecter.

Am I right in thinking that I can use a jumper wire from an unused wire in the loom outside of the ecu case to the boost output in the DB15?

I can easily feed wires thru the firewall but why do that if I don't have to.

Should work fine, quite a good way to do it. I doubt it would be overly sensitive to where it gets power from.
You can test it by setting it to activate at idle with 0% throttle in tunerstudio, you should be able to hear the valve working.

An even better way to do it is to internally inside the ECU connect the wire to the loom. That way you don't have to modify your stock loom.

Agreed but I fear that I may stuff up and solder bigger then I should.
