Hi fellow SP owners,

I have only just acquired an SP and would like to know how do I identify the build number?

Thanks,

Jamie

Welcome Jamie ...

I seem to recall there's a number in the air filter box, but no idea if that's the build ID.

You wouldn't happen to be the new owner of Ray's Black SP that just sold?

Thank you for that information; I shall investigate.

My SP is Sunlight Silver and was purchased from the 2nd owner in North Sydney, 1st owner in Potts Point bought from Eurocar Mazda at Artarmon, (which is a dumb name for a Japanese franchise).

The car has 132,000 km and is all original and all I've done so far is an oil/filter change, new KYB struts and four (4) new Bridgestone RE002 tyres to make it a reasonable starting point. I'm busy with work through to 30 April 2015 and then I'll spend some quality time with the car with a major service (all fluids replaced), new brake pads front and rear, find the source of a noise in the rear suspension (couldn't hear it before the struts were replaced) and rectify it and then head of to Marulan on 17 May 2015 and Wakefield on 31 May with the NSW MX-5 Club to learn about my SP.

Attached is a photo of the SP with my daily drive (VF Commodore SS-V Redline) and I'm calling them my Silver Arrows; all I need now is an Australian homologated Nissan Skyline GTR in silver and original condition to complete my garage.

Hi Jamie, Welcome.
Would you like to add your name to the SP owners list?

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=41971&hilit=SP+owners+list&start=135

You will find etched/scratched on the underside of your air box your build number.
You have to take the whole box out not just the lid. Put the number after your name on the register. It might already be there and we can track its history.
You will love your SP they are great fun.

Richard.
