Hey Guys!

names Jason i drive an 89 Eunos Roadster .

this question has mostlikely been asked on this before but i cant find the feed but im thinking of putting some forced induction into my eunos.

Main Queries:
what are the pros and cons of each?
what would get more power out of the car?
what would be best suited for a street/track car?
and how much?

Details on my car incase its needed
89 Eunos Roadster
60000k's on the clock
first owner in sydney
stock everything besides a Cusco strut bar

before any of this happens im gonna be getting me some coilovers new brakes and what not just really curious about power gains and for the use of my needs

thanks for the help guys! :)

What is your budget, time frame and power expectations.

I have just supercharged my NB with a rotrex and love the power output. You should try and drive both a s/c and t/c car if possible and see which you like best. Once you decide then figure out a budget.

That's a crazy list for a streeted mild FI.

Budget is the biggest. At least 3k for something with a few nice bits/some 2nd hand stuff doing the work yourself. $5k for someone else to do it. 10+k for big power. Do some research on here. Look through people's builds. I've just spent $800 turboing my car with all bits supplied, and doing everything myself. Cost was in new manifold, replacing seals, upgrading studs, etc. Its almost always cheaper to buy something already modified.

Budget im not too sure how much its all gonna set me back so thats why im just trying to get a ball park estimate of roughly how much it'll set me back

as for the one doing the project, i would love to but im not exactly mechanically minded so i have no clue what im doing as much as i'd love to do it myself.

for that list is that just strictly track car? cause this will be used as a daily as well so not going too overboard hehe

what kinda gains did you make on your supercharged nb? have your put it up against a turbo?

thanks for the help guys! :)

timk built ONE supercharged NB which he sold (a really nice car) but he's owned several SE's and did a great job turbocharging his current NB8A which is in the process of yet another turbo upgrade.

ie. ONE supercharged car vs many turbocharged cars tells you something about where he prefers to spend his $$$/time - and this is from someone who has experienced the pros/cons of both.

If you have an NC then I'd say MX5 Plus supercharger though since it's available now and should just bolt-on (I'm not aware of any NC turbo kits at this level of development).

Hey Angus,

That can be arranged mate. Just pm me for details. To answer other questions.......I got my supercharger kit from the states landed at my door for around $4k. Installed myself with the help of a mate. Went to chip torque for chip and tune cost around $1700. With other bits and pieces plus mod plate cost me around $6k and that's pretty cheap.

I wasn't aware of that kit - unfortunately it has 3 strikes for me:

1. It's made by BEGi - if you do a few web searches you'll find that their build quality is questionable. While they do try and keep their customers happy, you may need to send the parts back and forth a few times before you're happy with the result = that gets expensive and will take a lot of time.

2. It's being sold by GoMiata. I've had one good and one bad experience with them so wont use them again. The bad experience was because I bought a part they didn't have in stock and got no feedback from them despite many requests - it did arrive eventully.

3. It's made by BEGi and sold ny GoMiata so you have a 3rd party involved - better to buy it through BEGi directly.
