Hey, so I have installed on my SE the mania metal throttle elbow which is all well and good except to doesn't have a spot to plumb the boost signal like the factory elbow.
I have instead tee'd it into the pipe that goes from the top of the bov to the manifold.
I have since learnt that this isn't the ideal setup so was thinking of adding a barb onto the short silicone hose between the elbow and bov but am struggling to find the right thing to use.
There's a few place in the US that sell quick tap barbs for $10 but charge a rediculous $50odd to post.
There's only a handful of people selling similar on eBay but the product looks quite poor by comparison.
Is there any shops in Australia that sell a solid tapping barb unit?
Or would I be better off getting someone to weld/drill a barb fitting into the metal elbow?
Tap a barb into silicone hose. Where to buy/how to do

Ohh how much would I be looking at for you to weld one on Dann?

It has a metal and a silicone component.

I was looking at using one of these:

Seems simple enough, use a hole punch then screw down the fitting, but postage is insane so if stores in Australia don't sell something similar then I think getting a barb/nipple outlet taped onto the metal elbow at the intake will be a more secure (and better looking) way of doing this.

I was faced with the same problem but went for a bit of a ghetto solution.
I glued a drilled out valve stem from an old tyre tube into the pipe running up from the intercooler into the inlet elbow. Not everyone's style but works well.
This is the same place Lokiel fitted the type of barb fitting you were looking at importing......
Check out this post in my Garage thread to see what I did.

Given you're in Newcastle, getting Dann to weld an extra barb onto the inlet elbow would be my choice.

Thanks Nevyn, I saw your post up about this not long ago. Thats actually where I first read about sourcing the boost signal from the manifold being a bad idea (and explains why my turbo screams at part throttle up hills )
Gotta to honest, I wasn't too sure how long the tyre valve would hold on for before leaking

I have something very similar but bigger in diameter. I think about 12mm. Brand new. I don't need it. I got it from viper performance in the uk. Not sure if it will be of any use to you.

Thanks for the offer but have decided to utilise Danns welding skills and get one welded straight onto the metal elbow
