NB8A turbo questions

Postby RX-747 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 12:25 am

Hey guys, I'm going to turbo my mx5 and just had a few questions to ask (sorry if they have been covered before)..

First question is just wondering where I can purchase an extractor flange gasket for a 1.8l, I found this:
http://danstengineering.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=157&search=mx5
but would rather something more local, I work at Repco and gave Redback/Proex a call and they didn't do it for mx5's and the ones from 323's are discontinued so just wondering where I can obtain one without carving up the original headers in case I have to go back to stock..

Second question is ill be running a Megasquirt pnp2 and wondering for the IAT should I go something like this? Would this be my best option?:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/gm-open-element-iat-sensor-with-pigtail-p-62.html
I will weld a bung into the intercooler piping just before the throttle body and put it there

Third question is, for the wideband sensor ill be going the Innocative LC-1 and wondering where the best location would be to weld the bung into the dump? I dont want to go too close and burn it out, yet I don't want to be too far away and get possible inaccurate readings, I want to keep it in for a while until I am happy with the tune/ the way it is running..

Fourth question is, I'm most likely going to get RX-8 injectors but am unsure as to what year I need to get them from?
Are they these ones (standard ones)? Or do I need the high output ones?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1x-New-OEM-QUALITY-Mazda-RX8-Standard-Output-1-3L-Fuel-Injector-INJ-/150927511909?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2323fb1165
I am also open to any other injector options that bolt in and are around the 400-450cc flow range and offer good idle/ streetability? If it helps I plan on running around 8-10psi with more boost possible pending tune, etc..

Last question is, I will be making my own steam pipe manifold and dump pipe and am just wondering what size/ diameter I will need for the dump pipe and the steam pipe for the exhaust manifold? e.g. The diameters on these two (I know dump pipe seems obvious but not sure as its squashed haha):

Thanks a lot and any help is greatly appreciated :)

1.25" steam pipe and 2.5 or 3" for the DP.
