Ms tuning assistance

Postby elitee » Sat Apr 13, 2013 6:51 pm

Hi.

Just wondering if someone is able to help me out getting my car running on my ms2.

Car is boosted and has 850cc injectors and its making me have big issues getting it started and idling.

Sounds like you need to change the kick over injector durations. The base map is based on standard injectors which are either 250 or 300cc. You've gone to 850cc so need to reduce the duration periods accordingly. I.e reduce duration by dividing the duration by 3.4 if your original injectors were 250cc.

Then you will also need to adjust the duel table by adjusting the injector size in the constants page. If you do this right the table will automatically adjust for your 850cc injectors. Will still need an auto tune or sumo tune afterwoods but should get you running.

Cheers

Hahahaha whoops. Thanks dann. Damn auto correct. Types this up on my iPhone and it changed dyno to sumo. Though that ain't a bad name for it.

If you tell me the specs of the engine, in detail, and ms2 firmware version, I should be able to send you a tune that will start, idle and be a good base to tune from.

Ahh, the DIYPNP2 right? I think it has 3.1.2 firmware. Can you email me the tune you are running right now, and I will send you back an adjusted tune that should start the car. Just the MSQ (tune) file.

Just looked through the tune, and change the Reqfuel to 3.6 (from 12.7) with those large injectors. It would be dumping too much fuel and flooding it I would say.

Without more info on what specifically is stopping it from starting, I can't suggest anything else. A log and more descriptions on the behaviour - ie does it catch and stall out immediately or does it not even fail to start? Have you checked sparks? Is fuel being sent out the injectors? Is the timing close enough to start (CAS adj) ??
