Looking for well priced and decent quality intercooler piping fabbed for my na6. Does anyone have any places they would recommend in Melbourne?
I've been ringing around Geelong but getting bum quotes around $600 just for piping, supply own cooler and now welding etc, only using generic bends and silicon joiners.... To me that sounds like an absolutely epic rip off.
I know there are quite a few turbo guys in Melbourne so I'd like to find out where you've gone and if you were happy with the service before reinventing the wheel myself.

In my previous turbo NA6 I used silicone hose for most of the intercooler piping, with metal joiners inserted into the hosees where needed.
Did you try any exhaust places? They usually have the the right equipment to make mandrel bends in mild steel.
I need to investiage this as well for my new setup.

ps Just found this...interesting -> http://www.trikfab.com.au/Gallery_MX5_SR20.htm
Nice looking work...but not cheap I am thinking.

Or get your own alloy bends, cut to suitable size and mark for alignment then have them welded by someone.

I wish that worked as well as it sounds, I weld pipes still and have to cut and reweld them. Its not as easy as it sounds to hold 3-4 pipes in the right spot and mark them so they align properly.

Yeah I've been to a couple exhaust places but only in Geelong. I need to sus Melbourne but it's a 50 min drive for me so I don't want to take the trip for nothing lol.
Had a look at cut pipe bends here but they're pretty pricey. As in precut generic bends. They fetch a good $25 each :O and those silicone joiners are $30!!! I'll keep hunting though.

Wreckers always have a Good assortment of bends and joiners. I went to autobarn to get my stuff cos it was easier than running around chasing weird angles.
