I had my heart set on saving up for a Jackson Racing m62 hot side supercharger kit for my 1990 na6 mx5 but sadly I can't seem to find one at all.
Turns out they're all for BP motors.
I did some research and found FFS used to make a hotside m62 kit for the 1600's a while back but ceased in favor of coldside kits.

Does anyone know if it's possible to find an m62 hotside kit for a B6 motor? it's kind of annoying me a little because I don't really want to settle for the m45.

Make your own? It's just a bracket, tensioner and piping.

Nothing really wrong with the M45 and if you can do some fabrication there is plenty of 2nd hand MP45/MP62's floating around which can be adapted to your purpose. Think of some factory supercharged cars that could be a donor for you! Benefit also is a home job could be made for the fraction of the cost of a 'kit'.

If you were going for a '62' you'll want a 6 rib belt or you'll likely get lots of slip.

There is better support for the BP motor, you could do a motor swap then fit anything you like or go the common route of turbo B6?

Nanotech, I have one of the FFS hotside 1.6 kits. I know they dont make them anymore, but have you asked Tom if he has any of the old stuff likes brackets laying around? Could save the hassle of having to manufacture stuff yourself/pay someone to do it for you.

Thanks guys, sorry I took so long to get back to you all. I'm a fair way off purchasing still, I'm still putting funds together. The main reason I put this up was because I was trying to work out all my finances and figure out exactly how much I'd need. That's when I noticed all the hotside jackson racing kits were 1.8 BP only. So I looked into FFS only to find they didn't make them anymore. I wasn't really planning to settle for m45 or go turbo since, well you know what it's like when you have a goal. Nothing quite measures up to what YOU want lol.

I'm looking to crack about 180-200bhp with this setup. Will be using the stock powercard at first but later switching to something standalone like an Adaptronic plug and play etc. Not sure on stopping power or gearbox yet. I'm just trying to pen this job out and work out what it's going to cost me on paper so I can start putting my funds away with a concrete goal.
As for swapping to BP, doesn't seem worth the money swapping engines for a whole 200cc's. I know there is a lot more support but I'm sure it's cheaper to adapt something to fit the B6 than it is to swap the motor out and THEN start modding.
I've considered Turbo btw, I have my T28 setup scrawled up with prices and parts in a notepad doc. But would rather s/c the car. Turbo is the backup plan if I can't go with the m62.

And maybe a DIYPNP Megasquirt or another EMS for fuel and spark? I'd also highly recommend a intercooler. According to figures I've seen overseas should get you close to 200whp.

I could have been swayed to part ways with my kit a few months ago , at the moment thats a no go though .

Why no t28 setup?

You been in one? Kills an m62 anyday I reckon. you get your 250rwhp , or 200 or 15 whatever you want for the same price.

I didn't think the t28 had such a powerplant in it. But is that running stock internals or with cams etc?

Dead stock, t28 flows enough for 280rwhp. but your bottom end will only take 250.

Thats your stock bottom end limit on any correctly implemented forced setup, but with the t28 its bolt on a boost controller and make 250, not bolt on 2 new pulleys, overspin the charger buy a new one, do it again, still dont make 250, buy a turbo anyways..
