hey all. just want to get some info and perspective from people that have a car on club rego (good or bad?)
the NA is up for rego again and was wondering what was involved in putting it on club rego?
i think you have to be affiliated with a club of some sort and then pass an inspection?
i think it might be a good way for me to go with it as i rarely drive it and would like to get into some track stuff (as i have been saying for ages now

)
also have the log book rules for club rego come into effect yet?
cheers
kris

Kris, if it's the one I'm thinking of the vehicle has to be over 25 years old, otherwise the new club permit system intro'd in Vic on 1 Feb 11 sounds good if it suits your purposes, i.e. 45 or 90 days unrestricted vehicle use for about $115 per annum (plus $100 for RWC if required by club & an annual club membership fee) if a member of an approved club & club has endorsed or accepted your vehicle accordingly:

Yeah for vehicles over 25 years old, & from what I've heard it will be increased by 1 year every year beginning 2012 until it's over 30 years to qualify.

So if I've read this correctly, my 87 model track car (not an MX5) will not be eligible for club rego next year? But I will have to wait an additional 5 years until it's 30 years old?! ughhh.

The intention to transition from over 25 to over 30 YO has not yet been confirmed, so depending on if, when & how it's implemented your '87 might make it.
But if Vicroads implement it this year or early next, say on the first anniversary of the new scheme (1 Feb 12), then yes your '87 would not make it, assuming it's not a Jan '87 build.
