hi all
i have just fitted the following upgrades
fm stainless steel intake
aem cold air intake
turbosmart mbc
turbosmart kompact plumback valve
digital boost gauge
so i quickly took the car out the road for a run. in the first 3 gears i noticed hesitation from the motor around the 4 to 5 thou rev range. as if i'd stuck a wall no more power. foot flat but very slow pick-up with slight jumping or break-down of revs. once in the 4th 5th and 6th gears no problems and more power.
with the foot flat to the floor in 5th at about the 3.5 thou revs to 5 thou it displayed 10lb boost on the gauge with the mbc backed right off.
so am i now after the o2 mod to correct this problem of hesitation/ rev break-down etc from the motor or have i missed something
thanks graham

Re: hesitation in lower gear.......... after mods
assuming we are talking about an SE, your problem is quite common with intake mods and more boost
the undercooked ecu is trying to remain in closed loop fuel control (long after it should, when you stand on it) this is something the o2 mods try to smooth over but still not a real fix.
to verify this is your only problem, unplug the TPS sensor and take the car for a squirt. if your problem is ecu related, the difference will be night and day as the car will run open loop only (and quite richer)
it wont idle too good and it will throw a checklight on the dash but it will go as hard as you hoped
when i eventually got the adaptronic, all those headaches disappeared
best of luck
