Flying Miata's "Mazdaspeed complete intake kit"

Has anyone installed one of these kits: http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... WITH%20MAF
I'm considering going this route rather than the "2004 SE Turbo AEM Air Intake" route since the AEM intake alone costs A$599 whereas the FM kit costs US$595 AND also includes the "SE Stainless Steel Throttle Body Pipe" (MX5Mania:A$220), "O2 signal modifier" (A$???) and "GFB recirculating bypass valve" (A$???).
ie. There's at LEAST A$400 worth of additional "kit" which I'll probably end up buying anyway.
With the strong value of the A$ at the momemt, it seems too good to pass up, even allowing for S&H costs.
Are there any reasons why I shouldn't do this? (ie. Compliance issues? Do we have additional hardware under our hood that prevents it from fitting?)
The thing I do find odd is that FM mounted their air filter near the rear firewall - the AEM Air Intake is mounted at the front of the car which surely must get cooler air?
- Any feedback appreciated
