Questions for SE owners

Postby travyMX5 » Sun May 10, 2009 1:21 pm

hey guys just after some info.

1- when u have fitted a larger intercooler obviously you have to modify the standard intercooler pipes- i just need to know hve you trimmed the pipe where it connects to the cooler or have you cut a section out further along and welded it together? i ask because i was wondering if trimming the section which the rubber pipe grips to will allow the rubber to blow off easily?

2- does anyone have a factory cast dump pipe they would like to sell?? or an aftermarket one the bolts up to the turbo??

thank u

I know MX5 Mania has done this to several SEs now, so there will be a good chance one of those are in this forum. But if you don't get an answer, give David at MX5 Mania a call.

Daniel had few OEM casts at his place, pm little deckers. He may be prepared to sell you one.

Just cut the pipes and slowly weld a little bead on the end of the pipe at low temp - mig or tig is better than stick on this thin stuff. Daniel will mostly have SP cast dump pipes - I doubt he'd have too many SE ones lying around.
