Just looking at the possiblity of using an SC12 supercharger from a Toyota 4AGZE engine.
On the Toyota the blower sits between the throttle body and inlet manifold, however my plan was to mount the blower where the A/C compressor is mounted. ie a hot side setup on the air intake side of the TB.
Anyone see any major problems other than plumbing and ecu, I currently runa megasquirt pnp.
Thanks
Dave

see last post on the following thread:
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=34551where Okibi mentions that Roger Trethewey has an SC13 mounted down there on his track car. It's accompanied by a photo.

Do you have the SC12 yet? I have a M45 (from a Kompressor) that could possibly be available at the right price.

I'm looking at 2 at the moment, but it's early days yet. What did you have in mind for the M45.

'gobble, gobble, gobble'...
Any supercharger from a 4AGZE will be around 20 years old (when did they last appear? Trueno, Sprinter).

I have had similar ideas with an SC14, so any info that can be offered would be awesome

Daffyflyer, Peter Dowling at Autotech Services 11-13 Collie St Fyshwick (02 6280 5061) might be worth talking to - he mentioned to me he thought the Toyota SC would go well on an NA8 MX5.

Oh, By the way
www.autospeed.com has a pretty good article on doing your own custom supercharger setup (in their case on a Prius!
)

Btw, should add that it would also be worth having a chat to Russellb on this forum from Carco at Belconnen. Lots of experience with MX5s & also with SCing - some of his work is posted here.

There used to be a yellow race spec miata on cardomain that had a cold side mounted sc12 or sc14 mounted on it. I tried contacting them with no joy. Maybe you might have more luck. It was a beast and done pretty well.

SC12 is far too small, even the SC14 is not worth bothering with unless you only want 100 rwkw.
They're at least 17 years old and difficult to rebuild.

I disagree Rhysk.
The SC12 was made for the 1600 Toyota(MR2) from memory and the SC14 for a 2 litre 6 cylinder.
As far as I know the rotors also have coatings on them to prolong life. Japanese built parts especially for Toyota tend to last quite a while. There are even a lot of old Holdens using these supechargers on 6 cylinders with good results.
At about $350 it makes a cheap project if you have the time.

My mate had a second hand SC14 on his 3.8lt commo, it had a custom made pulley to overspin the charger and made about 10psi. It was 100% reliable for over a year and probably put out about 180kw at the wheels.
An intercooled SC14 would be great on a 1.8.
