Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
Excellent advice.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
getting close. The instructions and parts from Begi are starting to give up and I am back and forth to Coventry's and Enzed for bits and pieces. Not long now!

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
quick update
just waiting on a few more parts (both from the states and Mania).
Still got to put the underside bracing and trays back on. still to install the 255 Walbro.
Adaptronic is installed with EBC.
When (if) she kicks over I will then ship her off for exhaust and tune.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
so just been reading the big forums and they seem to reckon the standard pump will do.
I cant get my head around it but it is something to do with the difference between pressure and flow.
So, if I am running adaptronic and 550cc, will I even need to change the pump?
realisitically I will not be going over 10psi

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
no not neccessarily.. people will always say different things though.
there are plenty of people running this sort of setup with out fuel pump. make sure u have an upgraded fuel pressure regulator and u should be sweet with regards to fueling.
Like i said, other people may tell u differently but as it is.. 10psi isnt a great deal so power should be around 220 - 240 rwhp and that would be fine..
Read up even more if ur worried.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
Two ways to have more flow. Increase the pressure using the fuel pump/RRFPR. Alternatively have bigger injectors that can flow more fuel with less pressure. Whether you need both depends on the amount of power it makes. Your tuner will tell you if you have to use a bigger fuel pump when the car starts to go higher in AFR as it makes power.

I have decided to take that advice. Thanks

Well I am very depressed. I got the adaptronic installed on the weekend. Turned the key first two notches- all good, everything lighting up (including adaptronic). Big yay!
Go for one more turn and the whole lot shuts down

So i do what every good home engineer does and crack open some beers and get a bit pissy pants whilst reading manuals. Leave the battery hooked up and it is flat within 24hrs.
Now I am the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about auto electrical.
I think it is time to put it on a flat bed and get it to a shop.

Monza, I think it would be great if you could do the whole job yourself but your previous comments are a little bit of a worry. Get it to a shop and get it sorted and running so you can join us on the black stuff for the first Autotest on the 29th. Keep going it is looking great and should be a terrific package. Warwick

1. Stand in front of a mirror
2. Raise your right hand
3. Turn you palm towards your head
4. Strike your left cheek with a sharp blow from your right hand
5. Point at yourself angrily in the mirror and say "THATS LOSER TALK!!!"
6. Get on with it.
This process has helped me on many an occasion.
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!
