Does the bullet setup include intercooling or just the blower and bracket theoretically?

My style setup can be had for less.

Yes, only blower and bracket, but I'm getting details confirmed.

Regarding your setup, can you outline what specifc bits you got from where and how? Whilst I don't doubt the do-ablity, I'm just unsure what is required and where you sourced all these individual bits from? eg....

ECU : MS PNP
Blower: Ebay E45 from 2nd hand Mini
Bracket: Bought from XYZ online who make them.
Intake: Designed myself and got Engineer shop ABC to make.
Tubing: Ebay 100mm and 65mm lengths
2nd Throttle: Got a Holden model ZZZ 2nd hand from a wrecker (check that 12345 is working, they often don't)

etc...

If you want to buy premade parts:

ECU : Megasquirt DIYPNP (Solder together yourself or find someone who will do it for you - I'll build one if you can't find someone)
Wideband: Innovate Motorsports LC1.
Blower: Ebay used Mini Cooper S MP45 Can be had for around $100-200 if shopping around.
Bypass: OEM Mini Cooper S bypass valve.
Bracket: TRlane fabrications. http://www.trlanefabs.co.uk/SUPERCHARGER-PARTS.html
Intake: TRlane fabrications. http://www.trlanefabs.co.uk/SUPERCHARGER-PARTS.html
Outlet: TRlane fabrications. http://www.trlanefabs.co.uk/SUPERCHARGER-PARTS.html
Or alternatively grab a copy of the drawings and make them yourself.
Intercooler: Ebay generic (whatever will fit)
Tubing: Ebay generic piping and silicon. 2" piping is easier to route.
2nd Throttle: I think the TRlane ones use the stock 1.6 MX5 TB.

That is awesome!

Obviously there is lots of little bits missing (like bolts, hose clamps and throttle linkage/wire), but please let me know if anything significant is missing.

I think I'll start a build doc and begin to outline the parts needed - I'm guessing you did the same so that you can appreciate the work ahead and whether it was feasible and gonna work etc.

Did you have problems getting it engineered (assuming you've done that) ??

I'm still keen to review a complete kit from Bullet or others, but you've got me thinking.... Mmmmmm

Might be using ebay incorrectly, but searching turned up none? "MP45" has none. "mini supercharger" has a few, but around $550 to $650.

Huh?

It's an 'M45' - the larger is an 'MP62'.

Second hand MP45s cost about $650 from the fleabay US. If you can find them for $100-$200, buy them all and re-sell them.

They do come up cheaper. I got mine from the uk and they were cheap a few years ago when I was lpoking. They're popular now for kits like I'm describing though so demand may have increased price.

No the Jackson racing one was a m45. The mini cooper s one is a mp45. The P has nothing to do with size. See M62's & M90's.

Yeah, I know that the P indicates 4th generation Eaton SC, as opposed to earlier generations - the MP62 was what was commonly used on MX5s, along with the M45.

Point is that searching on M45 for a cheap SC increases hits.

It will increase hits, but won't help gslender with using the parts I listed above because they're different units. Even in the m45's and mp45's they have all sorts of different casing and snouts in the same model for OEM so you need a charger off a particular car.

Look at the MP45 off a Mercedes and it's completely different shape to the MP45 off a Mini Cooper S. Same generation. You could make it fit but it would require a different custom bracket.

More than I paid but 2 second search found two for 250 pounds.

Best prices I found were on ebay.co.uk but the price seems to have gone up a bit, just keep an eye out for a bargain. Alternatively look on mini forums. They're taken off for upgraded superchargers. Mine and a friend's were taken off to upgrade to a JCW kit which is common in the UK apparently.

With a mini SC taken directly off a mini it has a waterpump and associated gearbox at the rear of the unit. That unbolts and you make a flat plate that just seals off the rear of the chamber.

I terms of extras required it's mostly just nuts and bolts, you obviously need to sort out intercooling and ECU. It should be much easier if you're just buying the bracket etc from that guy. Only other thing is you'll need a belt tensioner (I modified the AC tensioner with some parts I had = cost $0) and a steel strap to attach the bottom of the SC to the tensioner. That was a simple piece of steel with two holes drilled in it. If you have power steering you can use the belt tensioner designs that everyone else is using the TRlane one looks awfully like another popular tensioner but it's incompatible if you don't have power steering. Hence my modified tensioner which has proven to work very well.
