With a piggy back ECU and extra injecter, they think it'll be under 3k for the full kit.
Its got me thinking... hehehehe
This kit is going to be a really nice set-up for people wanting a cheap kit thats MUCH nicer than the cheap non intercoolered greddy one.
They've been testing a while (I think I mentioned it in a post a while back) and have a very nice package together. Not sure on the compliance, but secondary injector set-ups should be very simple to pass. That said, dont forget that Australia is a small market as far as AVO MX5s go...
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.

HELP
How do you actually drill the sump? The bit they gave me has a shank too thick to fit into a drill. No drill will fit into the gap between the sump and the chassis.
Anyone wish to share some wisdom?

Ok so a mate is taking the drill bit to his workshop and cutting down the length and trimming the shank so it will fit in the drill.
I gather no one has actually drilled a sump while it is in the car

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
My origional AVO turbo application was drilled while the engine was in the car.
Looking back the mechanic told me he made sure there was no residule left in the sump but how would he really know.
Guess you could drain the oil a few times and run it through a stocking.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
not so worried about shavings. Just grease the bit and drain the oil. flush a few times with solvent.
More perplexed at how one gets a .57 inch shank into a drill with .5 inch max chuck and then runs it at right angle with only 250mm space between the sump and the chassis whilst the bit is 150mm long and a drill is 200mm long.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
Never tried to do that as yet however can you undo the engine mounts and lift the engine up with a jack? Should get you some clearance from the cradle/steering rack if that's what it is in the way.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
We're in business

A couple of the nuts were rediculously hard to put on. The EGR nut was a pain to get on the manifold. The exisiting exhaust does not mate up to the down pipe (no biggie as I was going custom anyway- on my rego I can get away with one muffler and no cat) so it is being held in place with a trolly jack.
My thoughts so far as it is a bloody well made piece of kit. I expected little pains like that described above but with a bit of persistence and beer everything can be done.
Over the week I will neaten up the loom in the engine bay and install the IAT and MAF sensors.
Next weekend I will finish off the oil and coolant feeds to the turbs and install the heat shields.
Then finish stripping the interior and install the ECU.
Woot! With tuning and exhaust I reckon I am about six weeks away from the track/road.

Re: AVO/FM/BEGI
Just talking racing terms mate. An SE was mass produced and is elligible for much more racing. The SP only had about 100 made so it basically restricts you to 2B production sports and not sure what else. The SP setup should produce much more power though.
