Over one thousand further kilometres and the car is back in Melbourne, with an average of 9L/100, with about 250rwkw, Pretty happy with that.

The car is yet to have its first real test, Sandown Raceway at 7am tomorrow morning. Good luck Dave.

Hey lightyear, just regarding the injectors, mate i have 2 sets, one purple 450cc and the yellow rx8 664ccc injectors. If your interested, $10 bucks each? neither set have had much use and are in pretty good nick.

Nevyn72 needs the rx8 yellows. Hit him up ;)
NA6 turbo - 140kw atw - not the most powerful but so much fun :D

8.56L to be exact, including a 45 mins stop/start crawl across Melbourne. And of course, it's impossible to avoid giving it an occasional squirt.

More info to come when I've recovered from the trips and have a computer.

8.56L is better than a standard small hatch.
I can't imagine a car that was just tuned by dann was dríven lightly either.

You didn't do too many laps today, I hope it went ok. I couldn't stay long as I had to drop off the Torana to Nicks. You didn't seem to have a lot more straight line speed than Russell, but you did catch him a lot towards the end of the straight. Does this car really have 250rwkw? And the driveline is going to be happy? I was told not to go over 220rwkw on the stock driveline.

Small hatches do a lot better than 8.5L especially when 98% of the time it was at 110 or 100 on the cruise control. Very happy with that economy though.

243.5kw to be precise.

I was following Russell to learn from him because he's a much better driver than I am. BARMY would have taken him easily on the uphill back straight but I chose to stay behind him to watch him, planning to give him a bigger gap ahead in a later session so I could set a proper laptime with no backing off. But then the power steering belt went walkabout, followed by many crashes by other drivers, meaning we only did about half a day and never did a proper lap.

Fellow MX-5-ists have mentioned that it's a pleasure to be behind a car that is no longer throwing out smoke, fumes, oil, and coolant, not to mention the fire and brimstone.

Well done on not getting a big head and a heavy foot and focusing on driving well rather than driving 'fast'.
Certainly expecting you to do sub 1:30's next time.

Russell did a 1:29.2451
BARMY, not particularly aided by me, did a 1:29.2903.

243.5 feels awesome thanks, particularly the way NitroDann has set it up, which makes it easy to drive, quite the opposite of what it was like before.

Sorta needs better brake pads now!

I should have entred, you could have followed me and gone quicker as you wouldn't have had to back of as much on the straights.

Hey billybunter- Im sure Dave would agree- +244kw feels, pardon the french- f*****g awsome!!!!!! Dave- ive already looked into upgraded brakes. Pulling up once or twice is ok, but when the 3rd attempt does raise the fearful hair raise on the back of yor neck uuummm......... Can't wait to see what the magical 400hp mark will feel like after i play around with the problem child a little more :D . Please keep them track figures posted for us Dave- so much to learn from you with your driving of Balmy and Danns brilliance at keeping it impressing us all with the tech work!!
