White dog also has half a tank of fuel.

Look a few posts back for first drive impressions.

Long drive home over next two days and no computer. Then Sandown in Saturday, rest day Sunday, collect new computer Monday and post a more detailed report.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Congratulations Dave!

Make sure on your way South you go via The Royal National Park, actually you could lose a whole day just in the Southern Highlands around Wollongong.....

Hey NitroDann, sorry bout the late reply, usual domestic/work commitments etc!! Yeh, my tuner does a fair share of V8's but he really does get into a true mix bag of boosted units as well a regular client base of pro racers. For the most part he's booked out weeks in advance, having such a well respected rep in QLD. Truly the best thing I done for the problem child was having hooked it up with the E85 from the frustration point back when taking timing with 98ULP was the main issue for generating good power, and before Matty, the tuner doing the work on it now, got his hands on it. He isn't finished yet with having it tuned to his total satisfaction (I'm currently compiling a "bitch list" for him). He did say that this initial tune was huge and it was always going to need a few tweaks, re visiting timing being one of them, although I think he's trying to keep me honest by giving me the option of staying sensible by running the lower boost on 98ULP, and leaving me the option to grow me some goat horns, a goatee beard and pointed tail, fangs, blood red skin and evil laugh, while chasing down the souls of the south east Quensland SR silvia brigade when the problem child has E85 in the tank!!! lately that 400hp number seems to be more prevalent now in recent conversations with both the mechanic and tuner though :)
Still though, if there is any experience and info to enlighten me with about timing issues with the BP4W its appreciated. Will keep you guys posted when all is completed. Im hoping to take a trip to Sydney for a rello catchup with a pitstop at Dann's in Newcastle on the way!!!.

Hey Dave, great to hear of that smile from ear to ear mate!!! theres nothing better than hitting that gas pedal, having your eyeballs sucked into the back of your head and seeing the road ahead suddenly disappear and replaced with a full view of the bonnet of your car!!!!! Great Work Dann.

That would be on an SE motor? Mine is completely different being an NB8B. I never got a graph or dyno read out, just saw 181rwkw come up on the screen. And going head to head with Daves car at 150 odd rwkw, mine was definitely faster. So the 181 number I saw might be correct.

Dave, I will need to jump in your car now. For scientific research only :)

I did think about going up with Brendan and working it out that we go to Wakefield or somewhere to make a weekend of it. I just need bigger injectors and top it up with E85. And probably an ebc.

It got taken an hour north, then 50km of abuse on Wootton Way and another local road, now its on its way to Sandown Raceway via Mornington, 1300 odd total KM from here, where it will be raced 8am saturday morning.

Best of luck Dave, lovely to meet you and thankyou for the opportunity to put my heart and soul into your car.

Urgh...everytime I hear about Dann's test route...

Dann - we should make a day of it. A run up that way, tech talk, maybe a BBQ?

Daffy your timing is fine, sounds normal to me, I reckon your tuner is very used to oldschool engines.

Hey lightyear, just regarding the injectors, mate i have 2 sets, one purple 450cc and the yellow rx8 664ccc injectors. If your interested, $10 bucks each? neither set have had much use and are in pretty good nick.

I'm half drunk  ... but for some reason - probably due to looking around at injectors last year - seem to recall yellow RX8 as 420cc?? Could be totally wrong though ........

Dave: Enjoy! As others have said, you deserve it. I'm so jealous ... hopefully I get to experience the big smiley face on my way home from Dann's one day

Sorry bout the wrong cc numbers guys, my bad- I think last night was a few shots of scotch too many for me as well!!! I was slightly boored and rooting through a couple of boxes of former bits out of my engine, some 2 or 3 builds ago!!! (Having a few shots of Jhonny red prior to eating a good meal makes for a Homer Simpson " I cant brain today, I has the dumb!"
