Can you use the stock IAT sensor?

The two SE temperature sensors are different for a reason, the one closer to the throttle body has to deal with hotter temperatures and needs to react to temperature changes faster.

GM makes 2 air temperature sensors, one for the intake air temperature (this has a solid brass tip, top picture below) and another for the temperature into the intake manifold (this has an open-air tip that allows the air to flow directly over the sensor for greater accuracy - it reads temperature changes faster than the solid brass tip version).

Over the Xmas break I did temperature calibrations vs resistance for both of these if you need them for tuning.
