Re: Opinions on intercoolers
Well I kinda wanted to lower the front a little more which is going to make the cooler sit about 10-15mm lower.

It is not just the inconvenience, you will also be sucking in unfiltered air into the engine and of course there is the sudden drop in power.
I have an old intercooler in my shed. It is about the size of a standard radiator. I used it for a little while, but then switched to a small one as I was overheating in hot weather. I suspected that the bigger intercooler was blocking the air flow, and the smaller one would fix the problem, but it didn't. You are welcome to take the old one, it is just taking up room in the shed.

Got that blower going yet?
I used a smaller eBay inter cooler on the sc & a larger eBay cooler that fills the mouth for the t28. Both seem to do the trick!

Re: Opinions on intercoolers
Hahah this is embarrassing to admit but no... I can't even explain why. I've just been taking my sweet time and putting it off for this or that reason. I have a megasquirt connected, wideband sitting in waiting to be spliced to the rest, gauge in place waiting to be spliced, intercooler connected and pipes on, vac lines all connected. Blower was mounted and pulleys all on but took it off to mock up a heath shield between the headers and the blower. Oh and repainting the blower pipes too. It's literally like an hour or two's work to get it going.
I just gotta get some conduit to cover some wires, heat shrink, take the intake i/c pipe to an exhaust place and get the IAT bung put in and buy myself a second throttle cable and it's done. Lately I just haven't been motivated to work on it. Stressing over uni and stuff didn't help as well as destroying my daily car (replaced though). Though those are just excuses. As soon as I get the Honda on the road and registered on tuesday I wanna get the final things finished on the mx5 and run it. Every time I've gone to work on it, something else happens. Like a month or so ago I was going to finish it but found myself replacing a fuel pump and fixing an alternator terminal hahaha.
