No. Mine has always produced 8psi since new. So when it was rebuilt I had Mania maintain it at that (via a manual boost controller under the bonnet)
I was told the factory boost have ranged from 6-8psi.

Not to rattle the cage mate, but if it should be 8psi stock why would Mania need to maintain it with a manual controller?
And when will I see you racing again?

I'm about to fit an Exedy clutch disc with modified pressure plate (1600 items) on a Toda 1600 flywheel. Running a BP with 1 bar boost tops, will let you know how it holds up.

Because when we dyno'd it. it was producing more. So I wanted it turned down.

Very wise Allan. 150 is a good number.

Re: Clutch recommendations from SE/SP owners.
What does the SP do for boost control? If it just runs off the gate then a boost controller can only raise the boost. I assume it has some kind of electronic control like the SE?

Re: Clutch recommendations from SE/SP owners.
Stock should still be 6psi, I don't know who you or the car from but possibly it had been raised some time from New to landing in your hands.
Richard - you ran the difference on your SP. From what I remember the wastegate re route was 2psi, approx. 15-20 kw.

I bought it brand new in 2002. How about yours? Before you insist once again that stock should be 6psi, you better check with Daniel who work with Allan Horsley on the development of the SP. He'll tell you they vary.
Anyway, we've hi-jacked this thread long enough, back to the subject.

Mine was at 147rwkw on Manias dyno but that was 8.6psi after the T-Piece. Then I took it off for the smoothness back to 130. Then I turned it up and destroyed the engine so I have no right even commenting on this topic. In fact, if I ever play with the boost again its open season for everyone to smack me in the head.

174rwkw for most of its life. 115,000kms. Original standard clutch is fine. But will probably now fall apart.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Re: Clutch recommendations from SE/SP owners.
We all learn from our mistakes Richard, I sent you a PM Allan regarding questions.
Sorry if my comment came across abrasive Allan it wasn't my intention. I sent it from my mobile and couldn't edit in time.
I spoke with Daniel early last week, this issue was raised during our conversation. What he told me was used as the basis for my comment, although some varied slightly TBH.
My question wasn't originally aimed at your car, rather your comment
I had the chance to re-read it all on my laptop, seems your car made 8 psi, was rebuilt and lowered back to the 8psi that it originally had(?)
Wonder what the waste gate pressure should be, unregulated. (Another topic)

is what I was confused about. You said standard @ 8Psi, but a higher figure than the factory which I would assume is the lower boost figure.running on SP standard boost (8psi), my SP now produces 147rwkw (as opposed to about 127rwkw from factory).

Re: Clutch recommendations from SE/SP owners.
Had a chat to NPC clutches. They recommended a BP TX3 turbo clutch. Apparently it has more surface area but will work with a BP flywheel.
Has anyone tried this combination?

Re: Clutch recommendations from SE/SP owners.
Well my luck has finally run out, 95,000kms and the OEM clutch was destroyed from the two track days I had on the weekend.
The clutch still "works" but its chattery and I have no confidence in putting my foot down. It's also whining thru-out the rev range.
I have had messages with opinions, I'm looking at the Exedy Sports TUFF and the Flyin Miata KIT.
I have not discounted the 949 Racing Twin DISC organic clutch either.
Few questions, has anyone installed the 949 clutch? My vehicle is tracked often and I run it to the limit every session nowadays.
Has anyone with a SE/SP/Turbo kit had pros and cons from a lightened flywheel? I have read some here and on miataturbo, but I still want comments from local peeps. The overseas clutches would be more expensive landed, but might be worth it.
