You can bend gently the condensor up an inch or 2.

critique this setup
My critique? This setup looks and feels half-assed. That it not meant as a flame (though it sounds like one). You are clearly trying to do this inexpensively and that's ok, but saving $100 here and $200 there is going to severely compromise the final product. My guess is you will pull the kit off and sell it in 6-12 months time once you get sick of all the trouble it is going to cause you.
Oh, and just pull off your a/c and p/s. You can do without it ;)

Re: critique this setup
lol thanks for the feedback. I would like to go full ecu like the megasquirt but i dont want to do too many changes to the car that cant be reversed if i get defected. Defects in SA are a huge hassle and the car has to be put back to factory specs. This project isnt about pushing maximum power its just about minimal gains for a moderate outlay. If i wanted power i would have kept my FD. Ill post pics when im done, maybe you'll be surprised.

Re: critique this setup
I think you have entirely missed the point zossy is making.
You saved 150 over proper engine management.
You say you dont want the hastle of MS because you have to revert to stock, so you have chosen a half assed wire in job, rather than a good, much safer, plug and play 5 minutes to uninstall ecu.
Its will drive crap, have a boosted powerband of 1500-2000rpm, and be unreliable.

Re: critique this setup
its like that visa ad...
money saved on injectors.....$100
money saved on fuelling.....$200
money saved on timing.....$200
money spent on your blown up engine because you were too cheap to do it properly..... a LOT more than anything saved.

critique this setup
The emanage I have comes with a na6 specific harness that incorporates the timing and injector harness and it's from greddy not some hack job it is literally pnp. It will not be as good as a mega squirt but it's going on a basic setup which I will have no intentions of upgrading except maybe from the td04-9b turbo to the td04-15 if it ever needs a rebuild. Money is not the issue I just do not want to go extreme with the car SA laws are much stricter than other states.

Re: critique this setup
A turbo and an ecu is a turbo and an ecu as far as the law sees it.
A blown up engine only costs 200 so it isnt that bad.
but you need to see the difference between how a hack job and a nice setup drives.
You dont just get more power, the greddy setup isnt really fun, its faster, but so is a VT commodore.

Re: critique this setup
finally finished the install. got everything in but the FPR and emanage, ill start on those tomorrow. took it for a very tame drive to iron out any leaks etc and everything seems fine. lowest reading i got from the wideband was 12.5 with it idling around 15. My clutch was bad before and is totally useless now. is it normal for the wideband to go super rich (off the scale) when i take my foot off the accelerator?

Re: critique this setup
Wow, might just be that I'm reading thread on my phone but that turbo looks tiny. I would be interested to see how it plots on a dyno.

The emanage can log all those so I'll post up some graphs later.
