Gawd the cockpit in that Locost must be like an oven - turbo on the pass side and blower over the driver's feet! Top marks for grunt though, but I'll bet most of it is lost in wheelspin - not a lot of grip in the back of a clubbie.

NOPE just breaks Clutch , DIFF ,Rear Conrol arms and G/box (all in one go, 2 UP) but F^^K YER goes like a Wet CAT (when it hangs together)

What sort of torque and power figures are we talking here and across what rev range?

Come on Russellb you have all (well at least me) waiting in anticipation to see a dyno chart of this beast of an engine.
All the engineers in our club say it would be too hard to set up.
Please tell us more.

Still havn't dyno it yet . Have only road tuned so far.
As for the set up we are just pumping 7psi out of the turbo and into the Roots blower, It then pumps it up to 18 psi
( the Roots blower on the 4AGZE is only good to 12psi,where it can no longer maintain a seal between the rotors.
By feeding it 7psi it can now pump that 7 up another 12 giving 19psi)
and though a little Air to Air intercooler and back to the Engine.
so there are some pumpin losses and other stuff but it sound very cool and SHE GOES, SHE GOES, SHE JUST GOES.
I might go and start a garage page.

have boost from 8psi@1500 18psi@3000 and 18psi@7000 these are taken from log runs in 3rd gear ( way to fast at the end )

Actually 50 State legal. The highest HP you can bolt on a Miata in California and still be legal. CARB EO# D-617

Even better!
Like I said - That should place it well to pass out local tests.

There are 15-20 of them in Australia and New Zealand and a lot of other countries and nary a one has been emissions rejected so far due to the kit. A LOT of countries as well as states in the USA now use the OBD2 port on 96+ cars as a CEL test and OBD2 must be functional. That has stopped a lot of aftermarket ECUs as they eliminate OBD2.

Random piece of info regarding Aussie MX5/Miata

The mid engine monster is running a Toyota 1.8L with a Precision Billet 6262 Ball Bearing Turbo, which feeds into a Magnuson MP62 supercharger.
That's right boys and girls, this thing is compound charged, which means instant boost response at any rpm, and in any gear.
Good for 800hp and weighs 975kg with A/C

I thought it was October 2002 with the release of the Series 3 NB (VIN JM0NB30P200######)?

Re: FFS supercharger serious doubts
Nope, the 2002 model year NB8B got ODBII and number plate lights that come on when the boot is opened. The NB8C of late 2002 added thicker A pillar padding, different wheels, matt silver surrounds on the centre console and speakers in the windblocker. Can't remember if the low fuel light was 2002 model year or NB8C

Re: FFS supercharger serious doubts
Thanks for clarifying Liam. The owner of an NB8A had only yesterday asked me if their car had ODB-II. The answer was obviously "no", but from what I could find searching the forum, it looked like 2002 was the year. So ... NB8B in late 2001 it is.
NB8C from October 2002 was the first with dual front airbags wasn't it?
Man this thread is going off track now!
