Popping

Postby Badbuzzard » Sun May 06, 2018 6:11 pm

So my wife and I went for a drive through the hills today and on two occasions I heard a low muffled pop noise under acceleration. Has anybody else with stock SE had this happen. Only happened twice over the 150 km.

I can get some "popping" during decelerating but I can only really recall it started since fitting the downpipe. Sometimes get a loud "blap" - like a backfire - when accelerating hard and clutch to change up ..

Check your coolant.

Popping under accel may be pinging, which can happen from too lean of a mixture, or from too much heat (low coolant)
