What size intercooler for na6

Postby speed » Wed Jun 01, 2016 7:57 pm

Hi all,
So I'm ready to buy a new cooler for my very slow t28 turbo build.

I'll be using new alloy piping. 2 inch on the hot side and 2.5 inch on the cold sold. Plan to be able to run "up to" 25psi.

Wanted to get a tube and fin with 2.5 inch inlets and outlets but the coolers I've seen in 530 x 140 have inlets/outlets at either 2 inch or 2.25 inch.

What size inlet/outlets should I get and why?

My reasoning for going so wide was simply to not block the radiator with the end tanks. Is this even a issue?

Look forward to your answers.

Cheers,
Steve

Thats what everyone with an NA/NB should use under 30lb/min flow.

Thanks Dann. I've just ordered one.
One more question. Where can I get an alloy 2.5 inch bend with a tight radius?
I need to make up a new TBI so that my fittings clear your coolant reroute and my fat radiator.
Have checked ebay but couldn't find anything with a tight radius.
Thanks again!

Thanks again. I'd still have to retain the hose for the IAC, so maybe I just do that bend in stainless or run a longer IAC hose. Will have to think more on that.

Come on Stevo we all know that the best intercooler is the one that is as big as possible that requires as much cutting of the original frame work and front bumper, that is held in place with cable ties.
oh and for fully sick hard parking gangster bro, jdm rice factor make a dodgy hks template and spray that on the front........ should be perfect. lol :D
or as you have done go with what Dann reccommended.... either way.

Haha. You forgot to mention to cut out the bonnet and have the biggest turbo available stick out with no filter.
