Was thinking about cost and efficiency, those silver emergency blankets are amazing, they're made of something artificial. No idea how much they cost or if it's even if there's an off the shelf wrap version suitable for cars.

Changing the colour won't change heating properties by conduction or convection, but a well designed intake shouldn't have issues with either of these.
I've been thinking of reflective tape since my hot start suffers a bit from heat soak. Surely there's an effective reflective tape that's not gold?

Youve got to move in IAT sensor or adjust the IAT temp compensation curve and make it a U shape.

I'm experimenting with the iat corrections at the moment, the u shape is definitely what the car wants.
Apparently the new adaptronic 1280 or whatever it's called has time as a third iat correction dimension. That would be helpful.
I'll be fitting the turbo reasonably soon so the sensor will be moved in the process, I see most of your builds have it right at the throttle body (so is mine at the moment) do you just correct out the heat soak issues or am I missing something?

Yeah corrected out, but the best place is the intercooler end tank. There are plus and minus' for both.

Thanks dann. Intercooler tank seems like a neat idea, plus I can do it now so it's one less job to do on the big day (week(s)). I'll have a read about it.
