The short answer is that boost does not equal broken parts its more complicated than that. If youa re going to run one boost pressure across all rpm and conditions, 12psi.

I intend on running progressive boost through the rev range ,start low boost make it linear through revs building up to max boost , that's why I asked what was average max boost to run .. thanks heaps

12 at 4000, 16-18 at redline depending on the turbo/setup.

So the answer you are looking for is not:
Add boost until it goes bang and then just wind it back a little on the next motor????

Because if it isn't, I haven't got anything to add, just bored at work......

From my reading 12psi is max for a track car, and you can go more on a road car. I run 12 flat.
