Have a go yourself at the timing.
It's just a timing light ($50) and one bolt.
And a chalk pen.
steps are:
Mark the timing notch on the engine main pulley.
Mark the timing marks (to make it easier)
Attach the timing light positive to the blue plug (constant 12v feed) and the negative to the engine block.
Clamp the inductive thingy over plug lead #1 (or #4 if it doesn't pick it up at #1.... some timing lights are fussy)
Let the car idle and shine the light at the timing marks.
Slightly loosen the CAS bolt and rotate it until you've got the timing wanted.
Tighten bolt, take off timing light.
All done
