Has anybody been curious about this? i wonder if you send them you ecu and they flash it? valid approach to tuning?

Valid yes, betterable yes.
They will basically have a stock set of settings that work really well for an internally stock engine and exhaust and will probably be loose enough to live OK with a bigger exhaust too.
The kit is being sold as a 200rwhp kit, so low boost and is probably (don't all flame me at once) comparible to a stock SE/SP power level, safe and fun, but not earth shattering - I dare say it's a nicely balanced set-up for a reasonable budget.
The limitation of the flash is that it's set up for that kit - kind of like how a stock tune is set up for a stock car. Some mods will work OK with it, but do much more than intended by the kit and you'll probably strike problems like some of the higher boost SP owners have.
Want a budget kit, buy this, want more, pay for programmable ECU or bigger kit and internals.
Also consider the engineering requirements in Aus.
