My race car has stuffed its turbo and I need help identifying it so I can either source replacement parts, a rebuild or a new one if the cost suits.
It is part of an AVO kit fitted to an NA8 eons a go. The only identifying numbers I can see on it are:
Garrett A/R60 M24
HB0167J
14411-69F00
466541-7001
Does anybody know what all these numbers mean? Does these relate to a commonly known 'name' for it...I.E. GT28 fooleh sik etc?
Identify my Garrett turbo!

Re: Identify my Garrett turbo!
You can either fit a 2560, a 2860 (what yours is) or a 2871 (aka disco potato). These will all suit.
If it were me, id track down a good nick, used, Ball Bearing S15 turbo (aka foooly sik as bruh t28 KUZZ.)

Re: Identify my Garrett turbo!
From what I can find in a quick google, it should be a JDM s14 turbo, which is a 2860. If it is a stock engine I would just be looking for a S14/S15 turbo, whether plain or ball bearing won't make that much difference. If you are after better performance/response for cheap track down a JDM S15 BB turbo. If you want a little better ie new have a look at ATP turbo, they have quick service and good prices. I got a turbo from them in 3 days on Fedex from memory.
A GT2860RS is what is known as the "disco potato".
Cheers,
Tim

Re: Identify my Garrett turbo!
Just thought I would update this incase anyone else searches..
It is a GT2560R like this: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... 6541_1.htm
The bit that confused me the most was not being able to find any references to the -7001 bit of the part number. In sourcing a brand new turbo it turns out that the 700 bit means nothing to Garrett and they actually dont recognise the part number in the -7001 format.
I sourced a new turbo through www.sonicperformance.com.au who are affiliated with MTQ Engine Sytems...I had my turbo and fittings sitting on my desk within about 3 hours of ordering!!
Note that the original turbo on my car is part of an AVO kit and is modified by AVO to fit. I had to strip both turbos down and swap over the compressor housings.
