This news is hot off the presses, the fist kit is bolted up and running, as of today!
I emailed FFS yesterday just enquiring as to when it would be available, and a few other specific questions about engine mods, RHD fitment etc and got the following response from tom (last paragraph is a bit tempting too).....
James,
The kit is finished and installed and started up today. We have it
installed on a 1990 Miata with 85,000 miles. We should have pictures up
today and specifications up as the next couple days progress. It is
emissions friendly (CARB EO#D-617-1 in California.) as it passes California
emissions. It will retail at $3695 USD and will make a minimum of 170WHP in
base form. Actual WHP should be available in the next couple days.
Best CR for boost of any kind is 9:1 (there may also be some 8.8:1 pistons
available for the 1.6L? These would be great as well). The engine we are
using is pure 1990 stock. The head has never been off the engine. We will
be running stock cams. This engine made 95WHP stock. Our goal is about
180/190 with a minimum target of 170WHP. We have our kits already on 94-97
1.8L RHD cars and expect no problems on the 1.6L. It will drive and feel
just like stock with a 3L V6 under the hood.
Please let the others know that it will be released for production in a
couple weeks and we have a discount posted of 10% for the first 10 kits
ordered. That will easily cover the normal cost of shipping to Australia.
There are still 5 of those left.
Thanks for your interest.
Tom

I've already got my name down for 1 of the first 10
They would have had rwhp figures by now but ended up breaking the crank on the short nose engine due to a previous owner reinstalling it improperly.
