B6 with MP62 supercharger?

Postby jerrah » Fri Nov 20, 2009 2:17 pm

I'm still tossing up between a turbo and a supercharged setup.

If i went for the supercharger I've been advised that the MP62 will give me more performance - is there anyone who makes an MP62 kit for the B6 engine?

Thanks.

I contacted them but they only seem to have cold-side kits and they said they won't have something suitable in the short term.

I'm considering buying a 2nd hand M62 supercharger and making my own brackets.

Talk to Danny at MX-5 Plus at Geebung

aka ORX626 on here
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

I don't think anyone offered an NA6 hotside SC kit using the MP62, which isn't to say someone didn't adapt an MP62 for the B6 engine. If there was one then you should find it in the US, which with the current exchange rate could make it worthwhile to import.

FFS did, I have one.

Jerrah, have a look at my thread on their forum http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com ... php?t=1471

or in the garage section of this website I have some pics up of it. Did Tom not want to sell you a Hotside?

Thought yours must have been coldside when Jerrah got the response below from FFS:

Your FFS hotside setup looks good - would be an improvement on the M45 hotside kit as well.

Fast Forward superchargers do a MP62 hotside but they are strongly pushing their coldside kit which isn't available yet.

The cold side will potentially have better throttle response but you won't be able to intercool it very easily - if at all.

I'm currently leaning towards a cheap turbo setup. I keep swaying one way then the other. :)
